Social Purpose Initiatives

Pathway Humanity works with community advocates who focus on pioneering change that help homeless individuals receive social service and mental health support. We are a pioneer for empowering disabled individuals and veterans receive transitional housing and to gain quality job skills training for equitable jobs. These efforts assist government agencies in a wide range of areas, from system and institutional development to more focused social service programs. Homeless individuals who remain isolated and ignored can become demoralized, which could cause loss of motivation and eventually lead to incarceration and/or death. These individuals should be allowed opportunities for growth and informed of the resources available.

Social Purpose Housing Program

There are an insufficient number of drop-in centers for the homeless which may hinder the reintegration of these individuals back into mainstream society. Poverty and homelessness have become major problems in California. This is due to an array of factors, including drugs and/or alcohol addiction, family divorce or separation, domestic violence, eviction, mental health disorders, medical conditions, incarceration, and housing restrictions related to probation or parole. Many of these individuals have not received the appropriate treatment that addresses their needs. We work with local community-based organizations and equal employment opportunity advocates who spearhead change that helps homeless individuals obtain mental health services, essential life necessities, and the support required to safely begin the rehabilitation process and obtain necessary social services.

We operate 24-hour community-based homeless drop-in centers. The drop-in centers are managed by skilled, genuine, and charismatic staff. The organizational structure includes an advisory committee to the program director, who oversees the administrative aspects of the program, including funding and hiring. A program coordinator works under the program director and oversees the day-to-day activities of the center. This person serves as the direct supervisor of the drop-in center staff. Individuals with a history of homelessness as well as those with direct experience can be equally successful at engaging homeless recipients, setting limits, and encouraging prosocial behaviors.
