We are hiring an experienced Contract Specialist to bring onto our team. If you are a dedicated and ambitious professional who handles building relationships and promotes financial growth, consider becoming a Contract Specialist with Pathway Humanity Personnel, SPC. FAC-C Level I certification or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) equivalent in Contracting is preferred. This is a full time remote position after an initial two (2) week onboarding and training period that will be held in Phoenix, Arizona. Any additional onsite training will furnish at least 48 hours advance notice.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare contractual agreements using current research methods and a knowledge of a client’s needs and ability to fulfill its requirements
  • Collaborate with a legal team consisting of lawyers, paralegals, and office staff
  • Ensure that the terms of contractual agreements written in language that is legally binding and in accordance with the desires of the client
  • Assist clients to fulfill the terms of or to terminate contracts on mutually amicable terms
  • Review contract terms and conditions to verify that they are in compliance with company policies and all applicable federal and state regulations
  • Clearly explain contract terminology to clients and other interested parties in simple, everyday language
  • Self-monitor progress according to the schedule of completion to submit drafts and documents in a timely manner
  • Proofread, edit, and fact-check legal documents for accuracy and consistency, according to a style guide if provided by the client

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of current and legally-binding contractual language and terminology
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and suggest solutions for problems, customer complaints, and client concerns
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including an impeccable mastery of the English language
  • Clear adherence to company policies and procurement rules and regulations
  • Good organization skills and the ability to multitask on several projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of negotiation best practices, both in-person and in written form, that considers cultural norms and the client’s best interests
  • Basic principles of contract preparation
  • Basic methods and techniques of contract negotiation
  • General procurement practices and regulations
  • Principles and procedures of record keeping
  • Principles of basic report preparation
  • Current office procedures, methods and equipment including computers
  • Related Federal, State and local codes, laws and regulations
  • FAC-C Level I certification or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) equivalent in Contracting (FAC-C) is preferred, but not required
  • Background Investigation: Selected individuals must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint check and background investigation. Fingerprint results and background investigation documentation must be cleared prior to hire

Education

  • This position has an education requirement. You are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of your courses including titles, credit hours completed, and grades. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted in the application package.
  • A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree with a major in any field

            or

  • At least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. This position has an education requirement. You are strongly encouraged to submit a copy of your transcripts or a list of your courses including titles, credit hours completed, and grades. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted in the application package.

● $60,000 - $85,000 annually depending on experience
